On our forth day of editing, we used the colour corrector to create a gloomy bluish filter which emphasises the supernatural thriller. This filter also emphasises the typical cold English weather. We also began creating a soundtrack to match our production using Garage Band. This was quite difficult as Garage Band provided us with many different loops; the reason why it was difficult to make was due to the fact of having many different options to choose from. This made the group feel indecisive and not sure what to choose from. But after all this we came to a conclusion and finalised what were going to use. The reason why this was important was because the sound has a great impact on the theme, and if the sound doesn’t match then the production doesn’t work well.
As this was my first time using Final Cut Express, I wasn’t quite sure of how I was going to input the track. Hyder the expert from the group taught me that the track had to be converted into an MP3 file from Garage Band for it to cooperate with Final Cut Express. When producing tracks in the past I had converted my tracks to MP3 however it wasn’t using Garage Band, I was more of an expert with Logic Express. Converting tracks from Garage Band was a new experience. Once the track had been converted I then learnt how to input the track into Final Cut Express and combine it with the scenes from our opening sequence.
