Day 2 Editing

In our second day of editing, it was time to edit our second scene that we have captured. It is the only footage we have as we did not have the right weather conditions to record our first scene.
We have decided to start the scene firstly with a sound bridge. The sound bridge is a sound of a door opening over a black screen. It is effective as it connects the second scene with the first scene of our opening sequence creating a sense of pace. We then added cuts to the footage. We have made the duration between cuts a few seconds longer than our previous cuts. This is so that we can add to the change of pace with our footage. It is effective so that we can communicate with the audience telling them that our character has calmed down. Another sound bridge is also used. We have put a sound bridge of a tap opening with water flowing out. This also adds to the pace we are trying to create. The only transitions we have used are simple cuts. This is so it could enforce the continuity editing and make everything in the scene appear normal so far. We have planned to use various transition effects later on in order to prepare the audience for the coming of the supernatural within our film.

To summarize, we have learnt how to use sound bridges and how to use them to connect shots and manipulate pace. We believe what we have so far is up to our standards and hope to further continue editing successfully with as soon as we finish filming the rest of our scenes.

Well done for keeping your diary up to date. Your filming should now be complete though. I look forward to and update about this tomorrow.
